This time of year, the heat sets in…..and so can boredom! Well, no worries as Nixa has got you covered. For those with kids, the Aquatic Center is now open with summer hours in full swing offering early swim for those with littles not yet ready to brave the throngs of teenagers during open swim. If that isn’t enough to cool you off, head over to the corner of CC and Main for the most amazing snow cone you have ever tasted, I recommend the Agave flavor. After your sweet tooth has been satiated, you can shop the open air market next door. With a quaint selection of plants, veggies, and fruits it is a sweet spot of it’s own. There is just something about warm weather that has us longing for refresh and beauty. Need inspiration to shake the winter drab from your house? Nixa is proud to announce the opening of it’s first Interior Design Showroom, Emma Louise. Browse their selection of fine interiors and feel inspired. Does your need for beauty extend to the outdoors? Stop by the Nixa Azalea Festival in July which offers Art in the Garden, local musicians, and educational seminars. The Center and OTC Richwood Valley both offer classes for all ages to keep your brain from suffering a total meltdown during the summer months. For details you can surf their websites from any air-conditioned space that suits you. Lastly, we can’t talk about summer, without talking about the 4th of July. You will notice the familiar white tents popping up all over town. Shop local and visit any one or all of these fine vendors to get all the explosives to make your holiday light up! Put on your own show or visit the City’s…that’s nothing new but it is worth mentioning. Well, I hope you have found this special Beat the Heat edition of what’s New in Nixa helpful, be sure and get out there and enjoy the weather and all this great town has to offer!
